Brief bio:
I was born in a small fishing village named Branch, in Easter Cove, St. Mary's Bay, Newfoundland and I am decended from a long line of artists and glassmakers who originated from the towns of Saint-Die and Colmar in the Vosges mountains of France. The B in my name stands for Bonhomme, the original spelling of the family surname. Both Henri and Leonard Bonhomme rose to prominence as Artists in Liege, Belgium.
Drawing and painting from early childhood I began a serious persuit as a painter in the mid 80's. My first large scale work was an 8 x 10 foot mural for Northeastern University in Boston. A more recent large scale mural work is on display at the Jacksonville Police Department CID Department for whom I also designed the official CID logo. A massive six by six foot work entitled 'Controlled Chaos' which I completed in 2004 was installed in the new, multi-milllion dollar Ester D. Nixon Library in Jacksonville, AR in April of 2009 and my portrait entitled 'A Portrait of Salvatore Moltisanti' was unveiled and installed at the IBLA Headquarters in New York City, following an unveiling and presentation for Moltisanti himself in Jacksonville, AR on May 2, 2009. My current works in progress include a life size painting of President William Jefferson Clinton and individual portraits of internationally acclaimed concert pianist Anna Rutkowska-Shock of Poland, concert pianist Gloria Campaner of Italy and internationally acclaimed Suprano Adrienn Miksch of Hungary.
I have been a resident of Jacksonville, AR since 1964 where I produce small, medium, and large works in oil, in a small, private studio. I feel that my diversity of styles and subjects makes me uniquely qualified to paint for a wide range of venues and commissions and I would appreciate it if you would buy prints of my work so that I may continue to paint and pursue a career as an Artist.
